A clean, fast website for listening to and reading the Quran — with verified text, permitted recitations, and named sources for everything. It works in Arabic and English, on any device, without an account.

Free forever

Everything on this site is free, with no ads and no trackers, and it will stay that way. Sacred content is never monetized here — not with ads, not with paywalls, not with data.

Not our words

We author no religious content. The text, recitations, and any future translations or lessons come from established, named sources — see our sources page. We build the shelf; we do not write the books.

No AI-generated religious content, ever — not in text, not in lessons, not even in error messages.

Quran text

The Quranic text (Hafs ʿan ʿAsim, Uthmani script) is from the Tanzil Project — tanzil.net. It is presented verbatim, without any modification, and its integrity is verified automatically on every build of this site. The Tanzil text is distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license; this credit and link are part of its terms.

Mushaf font

The Uthmanic Hafs (Madinah Mushaf) font is by the King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex — fonts.qurancomplex.gov.sa. It is self-hosted here and completely unmodified, as its license requires.

Ayah timing data

Segmented ayah timestamps used for listen-along highlighting come from the Quranic Universal Library (QUL) datasets by the Tarteel team — qul.tarteel.ai. Each resource's license is verified individually.

Recitations

Copyright in each recitation belongs to its reciter or rights holder. A recitation appears on this site only after written permission is on file. Recitations currently cleared:

Review

Any learning content ships only after review and sign-off by a named, qualified reviewer (a hafiz with formal training). The reviewer will be named here, on this page, before any learning content goes live.

If you hold rights in any content shown here and believe our use exceeds your permission, write to us: [email protected]

We acknowledge within 24 hours and remove contested content within 48 hours of any facially valid claim — we take down first and discuss after, out of respect for the Quran and for rights holders.

Content returns only with written clearance.

Who is behind this

Maqraati is built and paid for by an independent engineering company; its name will appear in the footer once it is settled — and only in the footer. Nothing is promoted inside the mushaf or the player.
